Success! Before I tell you anything else about today, let me just say that we finally caught some shrimp! Twenty-one shrimp, to be precise. Here they are.

Ok, we didn’t set any records, but I cannot wait to eat them.
Apart from the shrimp, today was a bit of a slog. Because of the rocks and dangerous currents at the entrance, we couldn’t leave before high slack water, which was at about 1:15-1:30 PM (it depends on the height of the high tide and previous low tide). After getting moving most mornings before 7:00, that was super late, and we couldn’t do anything outside with that time because it was pouring rain. I mean, we could, but no one wanted to get all wet. We actually snuck out a little early at 12:30 because we have a small, planing boat and we were boating against the current. The water was moving pretty fast crossing the entrance, I’d guess 4-5 mph, maybe more, but that couldn’t compete with the twin 250 outboards. Anyway, we made it out fine and then just set the autopilot and went for the next six hours in wet, lumpy seas. I can’t tell you much about Snug Cove. We just got in, dropped anchor, ate dinner, and went to bed.
