Day 20: Pillsbury Cove to Prince Rupert

Laurel

Updated: May 26, 2022

Today we traveled a lengthy 3.7 miles across Prince Rupert Harbour to get our transient slip at Cow Bay Marina in Prince Rupert.

It was a day for chores. The outboards have hit 300 hours, so Ryan did some engine maintenance, then finalized the hardware configuration on the dinghy lifting system. Meanwhile I did laundry, grocery shopping, and some cleaning in the boat. Sadly, the marina washing machine was broken, so I had to walk 20 minutes into town with all the laundry to the in-town laundromat. Oh well, I needed the exercise, and the clean clothes are totally worth it!

Prince Rupert is well known for it’s rain, and we had some of that today; however, none of it was heavy and sometimes it even stopped raining. There isn’t a lot to see here, but seaside towns always have a nice feel to them. We saw several wildlife murals, which gave an artsy vibe.

We took advantage of being in town tonight and went out for dinner at Opa Sushi. We had the Godzilla combination platter with a pint of pale ale from the local Wheelhouse Brewery - delicious!
