We’ve had a couple low-key days, hanging with our friends. We took a circuitous route from Waddington to Beware Cove, through Clio Channel and past Care Island and Beware Rock, so we could drop our shrimp pot by the fish farms near Lagoon Cove. We had Beware Cove all to ourselves, and it was perfect for sunbathing and chatting and sharing meals.

After a stormy night with thunder and lightning, we had a slow start—cappuccinos for everyone at Cafe Daniel before pulling anchor and motoring up to the shrimp pot. We had reasonable success with our shrimping, though the 33 we caught were a little on the…shrimp-y side.

Thankfully, there was no fog while we were cruising this morning for a change and the water was beautifully calm, but it was still a little cloudy. Lagoon Cove Marina kindly let us top up with water when we came by after getting the shrimp pot. With our tiny 45 gallon water tank, water has been the hardest thing to keep supplied.

Boughey Bay is not terribly scenic, but Scott dropped a couple crab pots, providing a new foraging experience for us. I’m looking forward to seeing what we pull up tomorrow.

We had some wind and thunder this afternoon, so today had a lot of hang-out time.

We cooked up a surf and turf feast for dinner—all the shrimp we caught the last three pot drops plus a hunk of flank steak.

Tomorrow will be our 100th day on the water. Woo-hoo! I wonder what the day will bring.
