We decided to stay in Waddington Bay today, since we hadn’t actually done any sightseeing yesterday. This place has lots of little islands, nooks, and crannies to explore. After a leisurely start to the day with cappuccinos on Wild North, Laurie took her kayak out, while Ryan and I ventured out in our faithful dinghy.

Laurie and Scott suggested a picnic lunch on one of the nearby islets, so we packed some food for an alfresco luncheon. One of the nice things about vacationing with others after you’ve been traveling on your own for so long is the injection of fresh ideas. Laurie brought some of the chocolate chip cookies she had baked fresh last night. They were so good! We definitely need to get an oven on Wild North.

This afternoon two other boats from Bainbridge Island arrived in Waddington Bay. It’s a small world.

After lunch everyone went their separate ways for some quiet time. On Wild North, that means nap time. Ryan took over the V-berth, so I read for a while before discovering the joys of dinghy napping. Laurie had tied her kayak to the stern line to float in the sun while she listened to music and caught up with family on the Starlink, so I pulled up next to her with the dinghy and tied off for a nap in the sun. It was exceedingly nice.

This evening the rain came, so we had an indoor dinner and planned out tomorrow’s cruise itinerary. We’ll be continuing the southward trajectory, following the sunny weather.
